These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Optio ("Optio", "we", "us", or "our"), a study productivity tool available at optiostudy.com. Optio is operated by OptioStudy, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, trading as "Optio". By accessing or using Optio, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Optio is a study tool intended for students, including those preparing for GCSE, A-Level, and BTEC qualifications. Some of our users are under the age of 18. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian, and you confirm that you have their permission to use Optio and to create an account where required.
By using Optio, you confirm that the information you provide (such as your email address) is accurate and that you are permitted to use the service in your country.
Some features of Optio (such as flashcards and statistics) require you to create a free account. When you create an account, you agree to:
You may sign up using an email address and password, or by using Google Sign-In. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see "Contact" below).
You agree to use Optio only for lawful, personal, educational purposes. You must not:
Optio lets you create and store your own content, such as flashcards, timetables, exam entries, and study data ("Your Content"). You retain ownership of Your Content. By using Optio, you grant us permission to store and process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you (for example, syncing it across your devices).
You are responsible for Your Content and for keeping your own backups where important. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee that data will never be lost.
Optio is currently provided free of charge. We may, in the future, introduce paid features or plans. If we do, we will make clear which features are paid before you are charged, and these Terms may be updated accordingly.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may suspend or discontinue the service (in whole or in part) with reasonable notice where practical.
We aim to keep Optio available and working, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. The service is provided "as is" and "as available".
Optio is a study productivity tool. It does not guarantee any particular academic result, exam grade, or outcome. Any planning, tracking, or suggestions provided by Optio are for organisational purposes only and are not a substitute for your own judgement, your teachers' guidance, or official exam board materials.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties and conditions not expressly set out in these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
Subject to that, we will not be liable for any loss or damage that is not reasonably foreseeable, or for any loss of data, loss of study time, or loss of academic opportunity arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. As Optio is currently provided free of charge, our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law. Because some of our users are children, we take particular care with children's data. Please read the Privacy Policy carefully.
You may stop using Optio and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that could harm Optio, other users, or third parties.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This does not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use Optio after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
If you have any questions about these Terms, you can reach us at OptioStudy@hotmail.com or via Instagram at @optiostudy.
